    The Schools of Choice initiative facilitates parental/student choice, within limits, in selecting the public school best suited to the student’s learning requirements.

    These requests for transfers are considered based on which state that schools enrol students in the following order of priority:

    1. Students designated to attend that school
    2. Students residing in the Ïã¸ÛÂí¾­ÂÛ̳
    3. Other Manitoba students

    Application Process

    School of choice requests are accepted for the next school year between February 1 and May 15

    Parents must apply to potential receiving schools by completing, signing, and submitting one of the following application forms for admission to a School of Choice:

    Within Division

    Kindergarten to Grade 8
    If a student wishes to attend a school other than the designated catchment school within the same school division, please fill out, sign, and submit a School of Choice Within-Division application form to the designated catchment school no later than May 15. The  application form may be downloaded . Hardcopies are also available at the school office. A hardcopy of the form may be dropped off or mailed to the school office or a softcopy may be submitted using the tool on the website. Note that forms will be date-stamped upon receipt and processed in accordance with .

    Grade 9 to 12

    If a student wishes to attend a school other than the designated catchment school within the same school division, please fill out, sign and submit a School of Choice Within-Division application form to the School of Choice no later than May 15. The  application form may be downloaded . Hardcopies are also available at the school office. A hardcopy of the form may be dropped off or mailed to the school office or a softcopy may be submitted using the tool on the website. Note that forms will be date-stamped upon receipt and processed in accordance with .

    Out of Division

    If a student wishes to attend a school in a school division/district other than the home school division, please fill out, sign, and submit a single copy of a School of Choice Out-of Division/District application form to the potential “receiving” school no later than May 15. 

    The form can be downloaded . Hardcopies of the application form are available from any LRSD school. Follow the printing guide as shown . Four signed copies of the form are no longer required. A hardcopy of the form may be dropped off or mailed to the school office or a softcopy may be submitted using the tool on the website. Note that forms will be date-stamped upon receipt and processed in accordance with .
